Here's the synopsis:
I loved Huntress by Malinda Lo. Throughout their journey the run into many obstacles and tragedies that bring them closer together. The romance aspect was different but very sweet and heartfelt. Every couple of chapters they are facing something different which keeps you engaged in the book. Towards the end of the book you become more on the edge and wanting to know what's going to happen next. I was a tad disappointed with the way it ended. I thought they were going to ride back home and there would be this big celebration, but something just as exciting does happen instead. I love the way Taisin's conflict is written to make you feel what she feels about the situation. There are many surprises in this book that you'll love so my suggestion to you is to go pick it up at your local bookstore and get to reading! :D.
Nature is out of balance in the human world. The sun hasn't shone in years, and crops are failing. Worse yet, strange and hostile creatures have begun to appear. The people's survival hangs in the balance.
To solve the crisis, the oracle stones are cast, and Kaede and Taisin, two seventeen-year-old girls, are picked to go on a dangerous and unheard-of journey to Tanlili, the city of the Fairy Queen. Taisin is a sage, thrumming with magic, and Kaede is of the earth, without a speck of the otherworldly. And yet the two girls' destinies are drawn together during the mission. As members of their party succumb to unearthly attacks and fairy tricks, the two come to rely on each other and even begin to fall in love. But the Kingdom needs only one huntress to save it, and what it takes could tear Kaede and Taisin apart forever. (Goodreads)
