Waiting on Wednesday: Panic by Lauren Oliver

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.
Panic began as so many things do in Carp, a dead-end town of 12,000 people in the middle of nowhere: because it was summer, and there was nothing else to do.
Heather never thought she would compete in Panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is even higher. She’d never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought.
Dodge has never been afraid of Panic. His secret will fuel him, and get him all the way through the game, he’s sure of it. But what he doesn't know is that he’s not the only one with a secret. Everyone has something to play for.
For Heather and Dodge, the game will bring new alliances, unexpected revelations, and the possibility of first love for each of them—and the knowledge that sometimes the very things we fear are those we need the most.

Summary from
Goodreads:
Goodreads:
Seven days aboard a luxury cruise. The
perfect getaway from it all.
At least, that’s what Georgia Cantwell was hoping for.
Georgia wishes she could run away from the nightmare that has consumed her
life, but she can’t. With her inbox filling with menacing emails, all she can
do is try to get through her sorority’s winter break cruise without anyone
realizing how wrecked she is. So she really doesn’t need Jace McLaren seeing
through her tacked-on smile when no one else seems to notice.
Growing up with a father in jail, Jace knows from experience that if you’re
going through hell, there’s no way out but through. He has always steered away
from girls like Georgia with her ice-queen attitude, but she’s in real trouble,
and despite himself he pushes past her walls.
As much as Georgia tries to ignore it, Jace won’t let her pretend with him. But
she can’t risk telling him the truth. Her past would ruin his trust, her
family, her future—everything.
But out on the open ocean, there’s nowhere to hide. And when Georgia’s secrets
come tumbling out, it might take more than Jace to save her.

About the
Author
I'm Valerie
but please feel free to call me Val. I live in the Washington, DC area; and I
write New Adult romance. I'm hoping to publish my first novel (set on a cruise
ship!) in late 2013.
As for my writing, I love sexy banter and guys whose hearts are in the right
place, even if their heads sometimes aren't. I love discovering strong, awesome
characters, putting them in entertaining situations, and watching them argue
their way to love.

Happy WoW Wednesday! Waiting on Wednesday is a meme created by Breaking the Spine where you talk about one book whose release date you are anxiously awaiting. My WoW this week is Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater! Sinner is a standalone companion to the Wolves of Mercy Falls series which I loved, so I am absolutely stoked about this upcoming release. Check out the synopsis below:
Sinner follows Cole St. Clair, a pivotal character from the #1 New York Times bestselling Shiver Trilogy. Everybody thinks they know Cole's story. Stardom. Addiction. Downfall. Disappearance. But only a few people know Cole's darkest secret -- his ability to shift into a wolf. One of these people is Isabel. At one point, they may have even loved each other. But that feels like a lifetime ago. Now Cole is back. Back in the spotlight. Back in the danger zone. Back in Isabel's life. Can this sinner be saved?

Book Blogger's New Year's Challenge: Share A Blogger Horror Story

Books Ahoy
Hey readers! Happy Monday! :) So today I decided to hop into Parajunkee's Book Blogger's New Year's Challenge. The Book Blogger's New Year's Challenge was created to help us book bloggers get into the book blogging mojo this new year. Today's prompt is to share a blogger horror story. Well, honestly, I've been blogging for a couple of years now and I haven't had a blogger horror moment. Sure, I've heard of a view but I don't have any myself. I try to please my readers to the best of my ability by providing readers with the best content I can. Hopefully, I can continue blogging without ever having a blogger horror story to tell. Happy Monday! :)

New Year, New Look, New Schedule

Hey guys! Happy New Year!! I know it has been a while since I have posted anything here but hopefully that will change this new year because I really miss the book blogging community. So, first off I decided to redesign Books Ahoy with a new fresh clean design. A new look for a new year :). Secondly, I decided to take a page out of I'm A Book Shark's book and create a schedule for my blog so that I may keep my blog up to date daily. I think creating a schedule is a great way to plan out what you are going to post therefore keeping your blog organized and planned out. I may even buy a journal/notebook dedicated to planning out my blog posts. Here is the schedule I planned out:
Monday: Book Tours/Challenges
Tuesday: Top Ten Tuesday
Wednesday: Waiting on Wednesday
Thursday: Book Tours/Challenges
Friday: Follow Friday
Saturday: Book Review (Print)
Sunday: Book Review (ebook)
So that's my plan for this new year! What's your new year's plan for your book blog?
